Sander bosman Banmanche Himalayan, Shamanic & Buddhist art

Our interest in Shamanism and Animism began decades ago. It was this interest which made us travel to the Himalayan region and to explore it’s many ethnic groups. The intermingling of these beliefs together with Buddhism created our passion for this kind of art.

Our current collection originates mainly from this region, but as these beliefs are not limited to this area also items from Mongolia and Siberia can be part of our collection. We decided to name the gallery “ Ban Manche “, this figure, both as creature and as spirit, fulfills an important role within the Shamanic world. He is known (by the Nepalian) as the man from the forest and also refers to my family name, which has the same meaning.

Beside friends, we have a good network in Nepal and when not traveling ourselves they keep us informed about new ancient finds on the market during the year. So on a regular base new items will be added.

Please feel free to contact us for any further information, additional pictures or for help in search of specific items.
